What is the Short Timer®?

The Short Timer® is a unique device we have developed to solve the problem of excessive wheel spin when launching a supercharged car. 

 

How does the Short Timer® Operate?

The Short Timer® is armed after the burnout by a switch in the drivers compartment. After it is armed, the Short Timer® is activated by releasing the line lock (or by an optional pushbutton).

 

What does the Short Timer® Do?

After it is activated, the Short Timer® decreases the rate of boost increase after launch for a variable period of time.

 

What user adjustments are available for the Short Timer®?

Kennedy's provides a user adjustable time delay potentiometer. By simply turning the knob, boost onset may be delayed from 0.1 to ~3 seconds. 

 

What cars can benefit from the Short Timer®?

Almost all supercharged cars are traction limited. If full throttle is applied from a standing start, wheel spin will result. By reducing or even eliminating wheel spin, a faster, more consistent launch is obtained. This will win races! We have seen consistent improvement in 60' times using the Short Timer® 

 

Is the Short Timer® easy to install?

The short timer can be installed in less than 1 hour using basic hand tools. 

 

How much does the Short Timer® Cost?

The final price has not yet been determined, but we anticipate a price of less than $300.
