9.68 seconds @ 138mph with a 5.0 stock block and a streetable HR cam!

2006 Update on Jerry and Cheryl's Mustang: Cheryl's husband Jerry is a professional mechanic. He built the clean 5.0 seen above and runs a Vortech S-trim supercharger. Kennedy's is responsible for the tune. This year, the car is running faster than ever after Kennedy's dyno tuning and installation of a Kennedy's custom cam. Over the winter, Jerry rebuilt the bottom end of this stock-block "screamer". Then Bob worked it over on the dyno. As expected, with the same heads and cam peak power was approximately the same but Bob found more mid-range torque - nearly 40ft.lbs. As a result, the car is now running consistently in the high nines. The best so far (as of October '06) was a 9.68 second pass at 137.99mph. Keep in mind that this car uses a small cam, shifting at just 6,000rpm. The blower is a relatively small unit, making the motor quite "streetable".

Joe Pawluk: Joe is new to drag racing. This is his third year, and he has already won a Championship! We will post details later about another winning Kennedy's combination!

Rob Chandler: Our customer Rob Chandler runs an '87 5.0 Mustang with a Kenne Bell 2200 Blowzilla/Flowzilla combination from Kennedy's. Rob uses a custom water injection system from Kennedy's!

Jim Noto: Jim is a dedicated MOMS racer. His clean, Reef Blue 5.0 is pictured below during one of the recent MOMS events. Jim uses a 347 stroker motor and a C4 tranny. This year he ran a Vortech S-trim blower, Kennedy's water injection and custom cam with tuning by Kennedy's. For 2007 he is upgrading to a J-trim supercharger. We designed a new cam to complement the new combination. As even the current combo runs in the nines, you can see that the bar keeps getting higher around here!!
